Kolkata Police has filed a new case against Aamir Khan accused of online gaming app fraud at the Hare Street police station.
Earlier, a complaint was filed against him by the Federal Bank at the Park Street Police Station area. This time, following the complaint lodged by a youth, the bank fraud prevention branch officials under the intelligence division of Kolkata Police will handle the probe.
A new case has been filed on the basis of the complaint. Aamir Khan has been remanded in police custody for 14 days for the new case. Based on that application, the court ordered police custody till October 21.
The victim had lodged a complaint with the Hare Street police station on October 5 and stated in his plaint that he was cheated of several lakhs of rupees while playing the e-nuggets game. Like others, his permission to play games on the app was allegedly stopped and his account was later disabled.
The officials of the bank fraud prevention branch are also looking for information regarding the whereabouts of more victims in the state.
Following the new complaint, the investigating officers will get more time to interrogate Aamir Khan in their custody. Officers are trying to assess the network of this vicious fraud cycle.
It may be noted that about 18 months ago, a complaint was filed against Aamir Khan by the Federal Bank. But after being elusive for long, he was recently arrested by the Kolkata Police from Ghaziabad following ED raids in the Garden Reach area.
