A stretch of VIP Road under water on Tuesday morning. “Despite the rains having stopped hours ago, there is no difference in the flooding in our area,” Parthiv Bhattacharya, 22, who lives near Tollygunge, told My Kolkata. “Many people have seen water seep into their garages and cars, and I myself had to use bricks to keep my car above water. Besides this, we still have no electricity, and connectivity is a major problem.”

Heavy rain was likely at one or two places in Kolkata on Tuesday, it said. Several long distance trains from Howrah were rescheduled to start from other nearby stations instead
