CAB announces ticket prices for the matches to be played at Eden Gardens

The iconic stadium will host five matches, including a semi-final

The Cricket Association of Bengal has announced the ticket prices for the ODI World Cup matches to be played at the Eden Gardens stadium. India will host the 13th edition of the ODI Cricket World Cup between October 5 and November 19, 2023. England will take on New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to kick-start the tournament. Also, the final will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The World Cup will be played across ten cities in India.

England is the reigning world champion. India won the ODI World Cup twice in 1983 and 2011. India reached the final thrice in 1983, 2003 and 2011.

According to the fixture released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the International Cricket Council, Eden Gardens has been allotted five matches, including a semi-final.

A ticket for the marquee World Cup semi-final match at Eden Gardens will cost a minimum Rs 900. Tickets for the India-South Africa game and the semifinal would be in the range of Rs 900 (upper tier) to Rs 3000 (B, L Blocks). The other two denominations for the two matches would be Rs 1500 (D, H Blocks) and Rs 2500 (C, K Blocks).

Tickets for Bangladesh versus the Qualifier 1 match will be the lowest that is Rs 650 (upper tiers), Rs 1000 (D and H) and Rs 1500 (B, C, K, L).

For Pakistan's two fixtures against England and Bangladesh, the tickets will be priced at Rs 800 (upper tier), Rs 1200 (D, H), Rs 2000 (C, K) and Rs 2200 (B, L).

“Even though fans have purchased tickets of several international matches through online platforms and apps in the past, currently there is no confirmation on the final list of platforms for ticket purchase,” said a BCCI official adding that most tickets will be available online and some over the counters. Fans from around the world can pre-book their tickets through the official ICC Cricket World Cup website.
