The Haldars of BB Block could not find a satisfactory venue for their daughter’s wedding four years ago. So the father and son duo decided to open one themselves.

After a pandemic-induced delay, Brio Hotel and Kitchen has opened doors in IB Block. “We wanted to open a guest house here to cater to the wedding parties. But weddings take place only for about 80 days of the year. So later we thought of building a hotel instead,” said managing director Dipayan Haldar.

It has 21 rooms, of which six are front-facing premium ones. “For a big event, we can houseblock the entire hotel,” said Haldar.

The authorities want the ground-floor restaurant to build its own identity. “Brio Kitchen is a standalone 78-cover restaurant with a separate entrance. It can also host banquets,” said hotel consultant Sanidhya Choukhani.

It will host Puja buffets from Panchami at Rs 999, all inclusive. “It will include five non-vegetarian and five vegetarian items,” he added.

Another spot to lounge in is the roof-top which is partially covered.
