3 toilets & 10 escalators at Biswa Bangla station

The station is going to come up near the Biswa Bangla Gate crossing beside Biswa Bangla Convention Centre. Once commissioned, an official pointed out, the station is 'going to cater to thousands of passengers, tourists and office-goers in the coming days'

Work on the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre Metro station on the Kavi Subhash-Jai Hind (airport) corridor of the Orange Line is almost complete, the authorities have announced.

The station is going to come up near the Biswa Bangla Gate crossing beside Biswa Bangla Convention Centre. Once commissioned, an official pointed out, the station is "going to cater to thousands of passengers, tourists and office-goers in the coming days".

According to official sources, state-of-the-art passenger amenities are going to be provided at the Metro station. There will be 10 escalators and four lifts provided at this station. Apart from these, 14 staircases will also be available here.

There will be two spacious platforms, 180m in length at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre station along with ticket counters. Automatic Smart Card Recharge Machines will be deployed for self-ticketing facility.


Apart from these, a toilet for women, one for men and one for the physically challenged will be available for the convenience of the passengers.

There will also be facilities like a public address system, digital display boards and emergency lighting facility. There are talks of using tactile floor indicators for the visually challenged and with some other added amenities.
