The second store of fashion designer Sona Agarwal, standing pretty on Ritchie Road, opens doors this month. Spread across a sprawling 1,200sq ft, the interior is designed with a fancy vibe in soothing shades of peach and beige, with her occasionwear and Indo-western collection on display. “Fifteen years back I started this journey as my mother encouraged me to do something of my own when I was going through a bad phase. She gave me a small amount of money and motivated me to pursue my passion for fashion. Starting my designing journey from a corner of my home and doing exhibitions for the initial four or five years, I was getting good response from buyers from all over India. I started wholesaling and later decided to start retailing as well from our first store in New Alipore. And 15 years later, my son and husband decided to expand and we decided to open the Ritchie Road store as the area is suitable for getting our targeted clientele,” said Sona Agarwal.
