This scene from What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim is pivotal to the story and adorable. Lee Young-joon (Park Seo-joon) finally starts to realise his feelings for his secretary, Kim Mi-so (Park Min-young) and takes a bold step to join her at a company on-site project in a dramatic way that is characteristic of him. In a turn of events, they get stuck in the rain and share this romantic moment, soon after which Young-joon declares his intention to get together with Mi-so.

As is evident from its name, Something in the Rain is replete with scenes in the rain that are memorable and beautiful. Rain is an integral part of the story of this K-drama starring Son Ye-jin and Jung Hae-in. A noona romance, this final scene where Jin-ah (Son Ye-jin) and Joon-hee (Jung Hae-in) reunite after a long break-up and share a kiss, is beautifully captured and makes for an aesthetic frame. The green umbrella is more than a prop in this drama and it becomes a symbol of their undying love for each other.

The layers in Flower of Evil are many and they are intricate, which makes it a delightful watch if you are looking for a pretty serious thriller but with romantic elements. This scene throws it back to when Hee-sung (Lee Jonng-ki) and Cha Ji-won (Moon Chae-won) first started dating and take shelter from the rain when they are out together. It is a pivotal moment in Hee-sung’s life where he experiences happiness after spending much of his life trying to bury his emotions.

When Ji Sung-joon (Park Seo-joon) from She Was Pretty has a panic attack while driving in the rain, his employee Kim Hye-jin (Hwang Jung-eum) rushes to his help. Traumatised by a fatal car crash from his past, the workaholic Sung-joon is unable to drive during rainfall. This scene also marks one of the earliest moments where Sung-joon and Hye-jin’s romance blossoms and unknown to them, it is also a mirror of a similar scene from their childhood.

Lee Jong-suk and Suzy’s chemistry from While You Were Sleeping is almost untouchable and this scene is a testament to it. In the drama, Hong-joo (Suzy) can see future tragedies through her dreams and Jae-chan (Lee Jong-suk) is a rookie prosecutor who has a past connection with her and can see her future in his dreams. On the day he finally realises how she had saved his life years ago, they share a kiss in the rain.

Whether you have watched The Legend of the Blue Sea or not, you might have come across this scene given how iconic it is. Although it has been almost six years since the show came out, Se-hwa (Jun Ji-hyun) reaching out while Heo Joon-jae (Lee Min-ho) holds out the umbrella, will always remain memorable. In the drama, Se-hwa is a mermaid who comes to land and strikes up an unlikely partnership with the conman Joon-jae.

Another incredibly iconic scene, this one is from Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo and yes, it once again features the ever-charming Lee Joong-ki. Palace politics, time-travel, body swap and romance, this drama is a neat package of tropes. If you have not watched it already, we suggest you keep a few tissues handy! In this scene, the 4th Prince (Lee Joong-ki) in a swooping romantic gesture protects the battered Hae-soo (Lee Ji-eun aka IU) who tries to plead for the life of her mentor from a false accusation in the royal palace.
