Odissi exponent Sanchita Bhattacharya is all set to perform at the upcoming NABC, 2023. With a career spanning over three decades now, she has been invited to not just choreograph but also perform a Broadway-style musical called Melange, a challenging Indo-Italian project, slated to take place at Jim Whelan Boardwalk hall in Atlantic City, USA on July 1. The idea is to pay tribute to the likes of Satyajit Ray and Federico Fellini, their ideologies. The choreography will take a fresh approach. The performances will feature artistes from all over the world, almost 50, including ballerinas and actors from Italy, ballerinas from New York and Indian classical and folk dancers from both USA and India. Singer Atanu Sen and director Sudeep Ranjan Sarkar will be at the helm of the programme’s musical and directorial affairs respectively.
Bhattacharya would be in charge of the six fusion dance numbers that will include not only Indian classical and folk dances but also European folk and Western classical dance forms.
We wish her all the best.
