Kolkata-based jewellery brand Crisanto Jewels by Bharti Bangur that specialises in children’s jewellery and fine jewellery and fashion jewellery for contemporary women has recently launched its new collection for the upcoming Rakhi festival. The new collection called ‘The Evil Eye’ range, designed for both children and women, reflects the brand aesthetics of light wearable pieces and quirky designs. Starting out with the venture in 2008 and later coming up with a store in 2012 in Alipore, Bharti’s motto has always been to cater to a niche clientele with a unique set of designs.
“Designing has been my dream ever since childhood and I wanted to start my own brand. When I got married and settled in Kolkata, I thought of venturing into jewellery designing. I wanted to do something different and wanted a niche market for myself. So, I thought of designing children’s jewellery. There was no concept of children’s jewellery back then. There were only boring designs imitating the ones for adults. I designed the pieces with quirky and fun elements like animal motifs, cartoon figures, food motifs. People started liking it and by word of mouth I also started getting international orders from Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong. It was only a couple of years back that I started designing fashion jewellery too, mainly for gifting purposes. But my focus remains to be on fine jewellery for women and the children’s line,” said Bharti, proprietor and designer, Crisanto Jewels.
The vast collection includes an array of items for both women and children including earrings, pendants, bracelets, kurta buttons, rings and bangles. The designs can also be customised as per choice. The fine jewellery range based on diamond, polki and coloured gemstones offers timeless, versatile pieces designed in a way that caters to the trend of minimalism and are suitable for various occasions. The fashion jewellery range curated with silver and American diamonds is tailored to suit all budgets. The children’s jewellery range is designed to impress with eye-catching items that are comfortable to wear and quirky in design. Talking about the brand’s recently launched Rakhi special collection, Bharti said, “Rakhi is not just about celebrating one day in the year. It is about a promise made forever. So, we wanted to create something more permanent. The evil eye symbolises protection from bad vibes. The collection includes quirky bracelets, charming pendants and statement rings in gold, diamond and enamel detailing for both children and women that are budget friendly and perfect for gifting purpose.”
