Sixth Avenue, the popular multi-designer store for western wear, completes two years today and to further their purpose of supporting homegrown brands and sustainable contemporary wear, they have collaborated with Nakshaa to showcase a unique collection of batik silk coordinated sets.
The traditional art form of batik is usually seen on ethnic wear such as saris and dupattas but giving this approach a fresh twist, Nakshaa has designed pants and tops as coordinated sets for the comfort and style of the modern Indian woman. Nakshaa, founded by Rijula Dutta Roy, is committed to reinventing traditional art forms in textiles and giving them a contemporary look for everyday wear.Speaking on the occasion, Puja Bubna, director of Sixth Avenue, said, “I am thrilled to be hosting Nakshaa at our store. Designed for all body shapes, the co-ord sets come in different styles such as crop tops with palazzos, kaftan tops with parallel pants and shirt tops with pants.Neha Jain, director of Sixth Avenue who posed as model for this celebratory edit, said: “The softness of the silk fabric and the unique handmade designs make these co-ord sets from Nakshaa designer in the truest sense.
