New Vande Bharat trains
Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off five new Vande Bharat Express trains at Bhopal on Tuesday: Bhopal-Indore, Bhopal-Jabalpur, Goa-Mumbai, Patna-Ranchi and Bengaluru-Hubli-Dharwad. The semi-high-speed trains with international-standard passenger amenities now run on 23 routes across the country. The trains are designed to run at a speed of 110 kmph to 130 kmph, but currently run at lower speeds.

Largest man-made wave pool
The world’s largest man-made wave pool is coming up west of Abu Dhabi as part of a master plan to develop Hudayriat Island as a tourist destination. Modon Properties has announced the project. The master plan envisages adding 53.5 km of coastline to the city, including 16 km of beaches.

National park shut
Dudhwa National Park in Uttar Pradesh, near the border of India and Nepal, has been closed temporarily to tourists. The park is closed during the monsoon. It recorded healthy footfall this year despite a hike in entry fee and a weekly closure. The tourist season at the national park usually starts in November.

Airline to resume operations
US-based aviation company NS Aviation has announced that it has acquired 85 per cent stake in the Hyderabad-based budget airline, TruJet, which had ceased operations earlier this year. The airline, which focussed on UDAN flights — the central government’s programme to improve air connectivity in underserved routes — plans to restart operations soon.
