On Sunday afternoon, Karisma Kapoor waltzed into heritage restaurant Trincas at 17 Park Street. She was accompanied by her children Samiera and Kiaan.
Lolo enjoyed an afternoon of jazz at the restaurant and tucked into some of Trincas’ classic dishes.
“We had no idea that she was stopping by. It was a pleasant surprise!” Anand Puri of Trincas told My Kolkata.

The actress is currently filming her upcoming webseries Brown in Kolkata, where she plays a detective.
In 2014, Papa Randhir Kapoor also enjoyed a meal at Trincas. “Randhir wanted to eat Chinese and was recommended the Ming Room by Trincas by my brother-in-law, who is a friend of his in Mumbai. So Randhir came over and had a Chinese meal with us,” recalled Shashi Puri of Trincas.

But Lolo chose Continental over Chinese. She ordered the classic Spaghetti Bolognese while the young Kapoors tucked into spicy Mutton Rogan Josh, Kali Dal, naan and kulchas.
The restaurant’s in-house band — Willie Walters Jazz Quartet — played a two-hour set as the fam jammed to yesteryear tunes of Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald.
Trincas has recently introduced weekend jazz brunches. “When we first began these jazz brunches, we weren’t sure what the response would be like. But it has attracted a lot of people,” shared Anand, who’s on a mission to preserve the charm of 'old Calcutta’ at the live music landmark on Park Street. See here for daily music sets at the establishment.
Karisma dined in Trincas’ main room — the room that has seen many a celebrity shake a leg back in the day when the Park Street landmark sported a dance floor.
She ended the afternoon with a photo-op with the band... and a promise to return.
