RENU OBEROI
Showcasing in Calcutta: On our first visit to Calcutta, we’re bringing the essence of Renu Oberoi Luxury Jewellery in its entirety. From our exquisite high jewellery to everyday pieces and our stunning pret collection, there’s something for every woman of every age. We believe in offering a wide variety of pieces, ensuring that every woman finds the perfect treasure that resonates with her style.
Are brides playing around with their jewellery like they are doing with their clothes? Absolutely, brides today are exploring a new realm of bridal jewellery. They are inclined towards lighter, more wearable options and are open to layering multiple pieces to curate a unique and personalised look. This approach allows them to utilise individual pieces more frequently and diversely, as they can be worn separately on various occasions. It’s a shift towards practical elegance, where each piece becomes a cherished part of their daily ensemble rather than resting in lockers.
What does a bride of today’s casket look like? A bride of today’s aura is a vision of versatility and grace. While we may not know exactly what her casket looks like, we believe we know what it should look like. It should be adorned with jewellery pieces that are not only breathtakingly beautiful but also incredibly wearable. The pieces need to be timeless and versatile, effortlessly transitioning from day to night. They are meant to be paired with couture wear as well as a well-styled weekend outfit, making every bride feel like a queen, even beyond her wedding celebrations and no matter the occasion.
Great festive picks would be: Great festive picks from our brand include elegant long earrings that can add a touch of glamour to any outfit, exquisite bracelets that grace the wrist with sophistication, and of course, a stunning pair of studs with a matching ring for a timeless and classic look. However, what sets our jewellery apart is its ability to transcend social constructs and time. Our pieces are designed to be timeless treasures, so you can cherish them not just during festivals but on any occasion, making them an essential part of your everyday elegance
JADE BY MONICA & KARISHMA
Showcasing in Calcutta: We are getting bridal lehngas, lightweight lehngas, festive wear, stylised pret ensembles, concept saris, gowns, Anarkalis and JADE’s signature handcrafted jackets.
A modern bride is: A living canvas of individuality and tradition intertwined. She’s a blend of grace and gumption, redefining the boundaries of bridal elegance. Her style isn’t just a reflection, it’s a narrative of her personality, her heritage and her dreams. She carries the legacy of culture with contemporary flair, embracing timeless traditions while infusing them with her own unique essence.
How has the JADE bride changed over the years? Initially, the JADE bride was a blend of traditional charm and contemporary elegance, reflecting a delicate balance between heritage and modernity. As years passed, the JADE bride has evolved into a more confident and selfassured individual. She seeks bridal ensembles that resonate with her personality, breaking away from traditional norms and embracing her unique style. This evolution is marked by a bolder use of colours, unconventional silhouettes, and a fusion of cultures, resulting in ensembles that are a true reflection of her essence. There’s a growing consciousness about the origin of materials and the impact of choices on the environment.
Great festive picks would be: Ensembles that strike the perfect balance between tradition and contemporary flair. These could include modern saris or lightweight lehngas adorned with intricate embroidery and embellishments, reflecting the richness of the occasion. Additionally, modern silhouettes like sharara sets or fusion outfits that incorporate traditional elements offer a fresh take on festive wear. The choice of colours plays a pivotal role, with jewel tones and rich hues often enhancing the celebratory vibe. Lastly, accessories such as statement jewellery and heirloom accessories can elevate the entire look, completing the ensemble with a touch of glamour.

This edit is an extension of what I wanted to bring to the city for wedding and festive shoppers. The curation has come around after a lot of thought and contemplation about what is it that is not already there. Couture that is not just a handmade piece of high-end garment, but transformative, cultural, whimsical and definitely an art in motion. Jade is known for its craftsmanship. With their humble initiative with Chanakya School of Craft and the work they’ve produced in collaboration with Dior, their designs come with a lot of meaning. Their work with ek-taar is exceptional, and there are very few couturiers that do what they do. Authentically Indian, graced with nuanced karigari, with a very interesting colour palette. Also, JADE by Monica & Karishma are celebrating 15th year of the brand, and while they are releasing the new collection across platforms, this showcase with their 15thanniversary collection marks its first presence in a format like this. As for Rimzim Dadu, I’m super excited because their offering just gets better with every passing year. This time they’re showcasing ‘Hydrochromic’, the collection from India Couture Week. A lot of new silhouettes, from lehngas to their signature saris, a very sharp menswear line in new colours, is what makes this season even more exciting for everyone. A very exciting part of this curation is also the debut of jewellery designer Renu Oberoi in the city. Revolutionising luxury jewellery with the highest quality of diamonds and playing with coloured gemstones, the jewellery is often spotted at red carpet events — Chikky Goenka, style curator
