Deetsu Kundu Label, a designer store retailing occasionwear outfits for women, is the latest fashion den to open doors on Elgin Road. Spread across 1,400sq ft, the store’s interiors are aesthetically done in white and decorated with fresh green plants to add a soothing touch to the decor. The vibe of the decor reflects on the display of the outfits, too, featuring mostly a white and green colour palette. Catering to occasions like sangeet, engagement and reception, the outfits come in a variety of silhouettes like lehngas, saris, pre-stitched saris and dresses.

“I have been very creative since childhood. One day I saw some pictures of fashion models in a magazine and that is when I knew I wanted to do fashion designing. My dream started from there. I came from Ranaghat to Calcutta to study fashion designing and then struggled for 14 years to gain experience by working with various designers,” said Deetsu Kundu, who opened his first store two months back. “I wanted to work with pastels and keep the design very basic. My source of inspiration is the image of the angels that symbolise a sense of calmness, peace and beauty. The colours and texturing on fabrics are done accordingly. Any woman who wants to dress in soothing shades with a glam look for their sangeet, engagement or reception can wear my designs,” added Deetsu.
