Returning to Calcutta is like coming home for us. We’ve actually been weaving our fashion magic in Calcutta since the beginning. We absolutely adore the city’s essence and its innate sense of style. The familiarity of the place, the warmth of its people, and the creative energy here make every return feel like a joyous reunion. It’s always an exciting and inspiring experience to be back in Calcutta.

What are your top things to do when in Calcutta?

Oh, there are so many wonderful things to do in Calcutta! First and foremost, you can’t miss out on the delectable food scene, especially the mouth-watering phuchkas and the diverse street eats. Calcutta’s culinary offerings are a true delight. And, of course, we enjoy the simple pleasure of cruising around in those iconic yellow taxis, which have become synonymous with the city’s charm. Exploring the vibrant markets, visiting historical sites like the Victoria Memorial, and attending cultural events are also some of our favourite activities in this city.

You’ve showcased your designs here multiple times...

Calcutta has a unique and magnetic pull that influences our fashion choices in profound ways. The city’s rich cultural heritage and artistic traditions inspire us to incorporate elements of its history and artistry into our designs. Moreover, the people of Calcutta have a distinct sense of style and a fearless approach to fashion. They are not afraid to experiment with bold colours, patterns, and textures. This fearless attitude encourages us to take bolder steps in our designs, to push boundaries, and to create fashion that resonates with the city’s fashion-forward spirit. Calcutta has a way of making us feel free to express our creativity in ways we might not have explored elsewhere.

We always look forward to celebrating the festive season in Calcutta. This year, we’ve prepared a fantastic lineup for the New Year and Christmas season. You can expect to see stylish skirts, trendy tops, and a touch of elegance with embellished shirts and jackets.

What’s been flying off the racks here?

In Calcutta, we’ve noticed that our men’s kurtas have been particularly popular. The city’s fashion-savvy individuals appreciate the blend of tradition and modernity that our kurtas offer. They are not just clothing items; they are statements of style and culture. Additionally, our draped saris have captured the hearts of many women here. The elegant drapes and unique designs seem to resonate with the city’s love for traditional attire with a contemporary twist.

Finally, besides work, any fun plans while you’re in Calcutta?

Absolutely! While we’re in Calcutta, we plan to make the most of our time by exploring every nook and cranny of the city. We want to savour its delectable cuisine, from street food to fine-dining, and immerse ourselves in the local charm. Calcutta is a city with a rich cultural tapestry, so we’re also looking forward to attending cultural events, perhaps catching a traditional dance performance or a musical concert. Additionally, we hope to take some leisurely strolls through its historic streets, visit museums, and engage with the vibrant art scene. It’s not just about work; it’s about fully experiencing the essence of Calcutta in every way possible.
