A little bit of Elon Musk on Twitter is fine but when he takes over the feed, it’s like “I, me, myself” all day long. On Monday and Tuesday, Twitter’s ‘For You’ feed was packed with tweets and replies to tweets from Elon Musk. It’s not happening on all accounts but some people are seeing more than the usual number of replies from Elon. Even the folks at The Verge have reported the same. On my ‘For You’ feed, the first six were either tweets from Musk or his replies to other people’s tweets.

Platformer’s Zoe Schiffer and Casey Newton had reported a few days ago that Musk’s account reached peak popularity in search rankings in April 2022, but engagement has since been tapering off while engineers found no issue with Twitter’s algorithm. Then there were reports that an engineer has been fired soon after Musk complained that his tweets were not getting enough views.

Last weekend, Musk said a change to fix the “visibility” issue was rolled out. So are we seeing more tweets from Musk because of the update? Nobody knows for sure but at the moment, we live in Musk’s world.
