Third season of See

After two successful seasons, Steven Knight-created See on Apple TV+ is returning in August for its third gritty season, which will also be the final. The show continues the adventures of Baba Voss (played by Jason Momoa) as he struggles to protect his tribe and the future of his world.

The series is set in a brutal and primitive future, hundreds of years after humankind has lost the ability to see. In season three, almost a year has passed since Baba Voss defeated his nemesis brother Edo and bid farewell to his family to live remotely in the forest. But when a Trivantian scientist develops a new and devastating form of sighted weaponry that threatens the future of humanity, Baba returns to Paya in order to protect his tribe once more.

“Building a world without sight was a particularly unique and continuous challenge that was met through the passionate and thoughtful collaboration of a phenomenally talented and diverse team both in front of and behind the camera. The show has been a monumental labor of love for all involved, and we are eternally grateful for the way See has been embraced by viewers around the world,” says the series showrunner and executive producer Jonathan Tropper.

The series features cast and crew who are blind or have low vision and has been honoured for its representation of the visually impaired, winning the Ruderman Family Foundation Seal of Authentic Representation in 2020.

First look: Five Days at Memorial

A series chronicling the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina on New Orleans’ Memorial Medical Centre will premiere on August 12. Titled Five Days at Memorial, the limited Apple TV+ series is based on the book of the same name. Hailing from Academy Award winner John Ridley and Emmy Award winner Carlton Cuse, and starring Emmy-award nominee Vera Farmiga, Robert Pine, and Emmy-award winner Cherry Jones, the show is based on actual events chronicling the impact of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath on a local hospital. When the floodwaters rose, power failed, and heat soared, exhausted caregivers at a New Orleans hospital were forced to make decisions that would follow them for years to come. In the recently released trailer, nurses, doctors, and residents brace for the hurricane as it races toward the city. As the sun rose over New Orleans the next morning, thousands are trapped inside the hospital.

A new season of Trying

One of the best comedies to have hit TV in recent years, the eight-episode third season of Trying, featuring Esther Smith as Nikki and Rafe Spall as Jason, will hit Apple TV+ on July 22. Now that the couple have adopted two children, they have to keep hold of them, which is trickier than they initially thought. Nikki and Jason’s relationship as well as their relationship with near and dear ones are tested while they hang on to their children and sanity.

New thriller — Surface

Set in San Francisco, Gugu Mbatha-Raw plays Sophie, who has suffered a traumatic head injury that has left her with extreme memory loss. As she embarks to put the pieces of her life together with the help of her husband and friends, she begins to question whether or not the truth she is told is in fact the truth she has lived. Coming on Apple TV+ on July 29.
