Organiser speak: “85 PRÊT is a symphony of vibrant colours and breezy fabrics, celebrating the essence of summer and affordability. It’s a kaleidoscope of flowing silhouettes, playful prints, and effortless style. Embrace the summer days with confidence, carefree elegance and endless possibilities,” says Shalini Nopany, Director, 85 Lansdowne.
For Pooja Goenka, working director, 85 Lansdowne, “it’s a seasonal curation of fun, edgy, young and well-known talent from across the country with a big twist of all under Rs 20,000”. “It’s our pleasure to share this burst of novel energy with Calcutta at 85 Lansdowne,” she says.
Bonbibi will present Travelling Trunks. We love the play of geometry in this piece on Sanaya Mehta Vyas. “Expect breathable and light handloom (Kotpad) fabrics which are ideal for travel. Comfort and style is what this collection is all about. Sequins and patchwork on stripes and checks have made it all happen,” says Team Bonbibi.
Ilk’s collection has an element of fantasy and looks pretty.
Chokhi Chorri is bringing a “collection full of flowy silhouettes, clean cutwork and intricate embroidery”.
Taro India’s pastels are a summer win.
A certain playful charm marks Abraham & Thakore’s collection with nature as an “inspiration”. There are khakis, creams, corals, lemon, citrus and blues, “juxtaposed” with black and white. Tunics and trousers, dresses, jackets, saris, scarves in cotton, silk, Tencel and linen blends, double ikat, silk cotton from Maheshwar and “specially woven Tencel x cotton blends” form a part of the collection. Patchwork, block-printing, crewel work, handembroidery and applique are part of the design board.
The Loom Art will get a collection imbued in tradition, rendered the modern way, teaming kantha with Arashi Shibori.
