The Burmese vegetarian eatery, Burma Burma is set to ring in the winter cheer with an all-new dessert menu. Comprising flavours familiar and unique, all the desserts on the menu are delicious and wholesome. Rightly named “Nostalgia X Evolution”, the items are a perfect blend of memories and familiar components, but with a twist.
“The menu takes me back to my childhood days spent in Bombay, how I would devour my favourite Gajar Ka Halwa, strawberries in winters or a gooey chocolate cake which was indeed my all-time favourite. This menu is an ode to the ’90s childhood memories we all have spent eating our favourite desserts,” said Ankit Gupta, founder, Burma Burma.
This menu has been created by chefs Vinesh Johnny and Prathana Narang of Lavonne Academy, Bangalore, who have been with Burma Burma for almost five years.
Not Your Ordinary “strawberry and cream”: The shortcake baked with lime and almond streusel along with mascarpone is perfect for those who don’t like an overload of sweetness in their desserts. The fresh strawberry confit sorbet adds that extra edge to the dish. Rs 450
Triple Decker Cream & Crunch: Discover caramelised white chocolate, pickled berry, peanut tuile and pink pepper gel between the soft layers of this delicious dessert, making a well-balanced combination of sweet and tart. The topping of parmesan and salted caramel ice cream only adds to the creaminess. Rs 450
The BB Carrot Cake: This moist cake is definitely a winter-perfect dessert. Elements like the cashew streusel, nougatine and pineapple help in cutting through the richness of the carrot cake. This is best relished with cardamom ice cream. Rs 400
Saffron and Samuza Cheesecake: The crunchy and sweet Brie-honey samuza or what tastes like mishti singara, on the baked saffron cheesecake, is a match made in heaven with their well-balanced sweetness and textures. Want the taste of fresh mangoes even in winter? Don’t forget the mango sorbet! Rs 450
