The inaugural edition of the Protouch X My Golf Tours Invitational and Parent Child Team Tournament teed off in style on a beautiful morning at Tollygunge Club. Eighty-seven golf enthusiasts participated in a first of its kind tournament that witnessed moms, dads, sons, daughters, and even grandparents, dusting off their golf clubs to have a swing.
The tournament followed the 2 Ball Scramble format, which is exactly what it sounds like: a chaotic and entertaining scramble in which the teams consist of two players each. Once both golfers have played their strokes, each team selects the better golfer and plays the next shot from the spot where the best stroke finished. This is repeated, including on the putting green, until the ball is holed.
A winner collects his prize
In the individual competition, Gaurav Ghosh carded one under 69 to grab the overall winner's prize. Kartikaye Krishna finished first in the net competition following a round of three under 67. Captain Sanjiv Dhir also returned with the same score, but because of a higher countback, he was declared runner-up. Joydeep Datta Gupta sealed third place, scoring two under 68.
In the teams' section, Hiranmay Chatterjee and Shreyon Chatterjee won the Men’s/Boy's team division with a net score of 62.5. Rajesh Poddar and Aariv Neotia took home the Open 9 Hole team section, scoring 31.75 net.
In the gross section, Anant Bajoria and Shivang Bajoria came out on top in the One Non Golfer Parent Team division with a score of 29. Sawan Kumar and Parikshet More finished as the runners-up following a score of 53.
In the Women’s/Girl’s division, Oona Khanna and Devyani Khanna captured the title after scoring 85.

Songit Bagrodia and Kaushal Bagrodia were crowned champions in Men’s/Boy’s team division after carding four under 66. The team of Amit Mishra and Anshul Mishra finished level with the team of H.S Bindra and Gurmehr Bindra on three under 67. On the basis of a better back nine score, the former duo were awarded the second place and H.S Bindra and Gurmehr Bindra were adjudged third.
Mahitosh Ray and Mayukh Ray used an impressive 9 Hole score of 35 to win the Open 9 Hole Team division while Nitesh Sharaff and Abeer Sharaff scored 39 to become the runners-up.
Abhishek Shah and Tashvi Shah emerged victorious in the Mixed Team division.
After a successful first event, the Protouch X My Golf Tours Parent Child tour will return to action in November with the Poona Golf Club playing host.
