The Royal Calcutta Golf Club (RCGC) hosted the fourth West Bengal State Championship and Talent Search 2023, organised by The Bengal Golf Association (BGA), affiliated to the Indian Golf Union (IGU), between March 22 and 23. The tournament came to a close on a high note, with 70 participants divided into five divisions.

The fourth edition was won by Anshul Mishra, who shot 148 in both rounds, three shots better than Gurmehr Bindra, who finished second in the amateur category. The amateur category winner will have the opportunity to represent West Bengal at the next National Games.
Anaahat Bindra finished with a commanding lead in the ladies’ division
In the ladies’ division, Anaahat Bindra shot an excellent two rounds, finishing with a score of three under 141 and a massive lead at the end of play. Gourabi Bhowmick shot 158 and finished second, with Karishma Samadder also shooting 158 and eventually losing to Bhowmick on a count-back basis (better score in round two).
In the mid-amateur category, Abhishek Mitra shot 153, which was better than Sidarth Rai's 171, allowing the veteran Mitra to win. Sanjeev Mehra, the tournament favourite in his category, won with a tally of 146, bettering Jaideep Singh's 151. Despite having the same score as Gaurav Ghosh, Singh finished second on the count-back. Kulvin Suri won the super senior category with 156, better than B.V. Srihari Rao's 168.
