Around 1,000 four-legged buddies dropped in to have fun at a pet carnival at Hyatt Regency Kolkata, organised by SteppinOut in association with Heads Up For Tails (HUFT) on October 30. Pawsome pet carnival PettinOut was the epitome of fun and frolic for both pooches and their parents, with unconditional love, sloppy kisses and warm interactions with the furry ones. From Tibetian Mastiff, Chihuahua to our beloved smart Indies, we met so many of them and came out warm and fuzzy from there! Some remarkable pet exclusive stalls by Pet Mama, Pawsome Paws, HUFT were set up, providing live grooming sessions, super quirky merchandise for dogs and even veterinary visits.
All big and small dogs alike gathered to have some fun, interacted super well and indulged in activities like Agility Zone, where they went through tunnels to play fetch. Some were funny with the tunnels. They simply enjoyed sliding down the slide created just for them. The kids with their best friends (read dogs) were blissfully running around and having a gala time playing together at the Agility Zone. The colourful Ball Pit was every four-legged’s favourite, they almost lost themselves to enthusiasm and happiness amidst their favourite toys.
The doggos with muddy paws and happy faces wagged their tails and enjoyed some tasty treats at the pet bakeries as well. Their happy faces and shining eyes made the day a memorable one.
Parents had myriad options of food and drink stalls to choose from as they enjoyed the biggest outdoor pet event that Calcutta ever witnessed. What’s In D Name and La Cucina were among the F&B options.

“It feels great to be here and it is so much fun for both Doofy and me. He’s awesome and he’s simply loving it here. He loved playing at the Agility Zone and the Ball Pit!” said Archie Sinhal Garg, owner of menswear label Agape.
“I’m a pet parent and an educationist. I have a pet named Zara. I feel that every child who has a learning issue must have a pet at home as it really calms them down. I am so happy to see Calcutta growing into a pet-friendly city,” said Neeta Kanoria, founder principal of Wings Pre-School and Activity Centre.
“Great initiative by SteppinOut to organise the first pet-friendly event in Calcutta. Our Coco had a super fun day with lots of games and treats. Would definitely want more of such events in future,” said Juhi Kapoor Sharma.

“We provide end-to-end pet care services at the comfort of their homes as they’re more comfortable there. Our motto is to make the pet parents feel really comfortable and secure,” said Brinda Roy and Aditya Mohan, co-founders of Pet Mama.
“Pawsome Paws is a one-stop-solution for your pets — crèches, insurance, veterinary services… we cover it all. It is quite important to me as I myself am a pet mom to eight rescued dogs and that’s how it all started,” said Ravneet Kaur, founder of Pawsome Paws.
Kumar Shobhan, general manager of Hyatt Regency Kolkata, was amazed with so many pets at PettinOut. “Being a pet-friendly hotel we were excited to partner with an event as a step towards inclusivity and there is no better way than a pet’s day out. We are looking forward to many such events and invite pets and families for staycation at our hotel for a perfect getaway,” said Shobhan. Picture: Shagun Lunia
