Shah Rukh Khan was in Kolkata on Thursday evening, April 6, for the IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). And Kolkata is still basking in besharam rang, smitten by the king of many hearts! Here are a few glimpses of the Badshah of Bollywood at the Eden Gardens for weekend viewing pleasure.
Jhoomey jo King Khan, meri jaan…
We have coined a new acronym for KKR (feel free to borrow). KKR is now the ‘King Khan Romantics’, which clearly matched the state of Kolkatans on the stands yesterday. He came, he saw and he conquered the city all over again, and we will always look forward (read, demand) more such visits. Shah Rukh was accompanied by his daughter Suhana, along with Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya. The actor and KKR co-owner greeted fans, chatted with Usha Uthup — who was dressed to support the Kolkata team, blew kisses at the adoring crowds, and appeared to be enjoying the match, giving us an evening of swoon-worthy moments.
Hook steps, war cries and the SRK magic
A visit from SRK is incomplete without requests for the signature DDLJ pose, and the star did not disappoint, striking the pose alongside KKR mascot, Kay, making our day so much better.

The Pathaan star also joined Virat Kohli on the ground and taught the cricket star the hook step from his latest blockbuster. From grooving to Jhoome jo Pathaan, to celebrating the glory of KKR’s big win — Khan’s despatches from the ground kept social media abuzz till the early hours of morning.
A team huddle and war cry has never looked more fun. Here’s the dream(y) boss with the dream team celebrating the spirit of KKR.
Winning hearts, always
When SRK meets his fans, it’s bound to make for heartfelt moments. The actor met one of his fans and KKR supporter Harshul after a gap of five years and the special moment is sure to melt hearts.
Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo Re
The mercury rose up a few more notches on the warm Thursday evening in anticipation of Kolkata shining on the home pitch, and of the man with the magic dimples visiting the city.
Even as Shah Rukh took Eden by storm, cricket lovers, KKR supporters and SRK fans wore the team’s jersey, got their faces painted, cheered at the top of their lungs and experienced an evening of major adrenaline rush.

Kolkata bled KKR
The city was bathed in the fervour of a KKR match at the Eden Gardens after four years. From hoardings around the city, to the metro to the facade of ITC Royal Bengal — the City of Joy was ‘Purple All Over’.
