Metro services
Metro Railway will increase the number of trains on the New Garia-Ruby stretch, the only functional section of the New Garia-airport corridor (Orange Line). From August 5, there will be 74 trains between Hemanta Mukhopadhyay (Ruby crossing) and Kavi Subhash (New Garia) stations, instead of the present daily count of 48. The first trains will leave the terminal stations at 8am, instead of 9am. The last trains will leave the terminal stations at 8pm, instead of 4.40pm. From August 10, the stretch will see commercial runs on Saturdays as well. There will be no services on Sunday.
