Traffic alert on Red Road
Movement of vehicles on Red Road will be suspended between 5am and noon on Saturday for the Independence Day parade rehearsal, police said. Vehicles going north through Lovers Lane will be allowed to travel west through Kidderpore Road.
Trains cancelled
Eastern Railway has planned traffic and power blocks on the Down Howrah-Burdwan chord line, between Jaugram and Gurap stations, intermittently for 24 days beginning Friday till October 5 to facilitate maintenance of tracks. Several trains will be cancelled.
