Kolkata Kettle's fifth edition creates eclectic melange of craftworks and couture

In the pursuit of practising sustainability and utilisation of organic produce, Kolkata Kettle 5.0 hosted an interactive platform for craftsmen, designers and local artists from different corners of the country to showcase their exhibits

A fashion show by Bibi Russell was one of the attractions on the first day of Kolkata Kettle and it witnessed members of Rotary Club of Calcutta Midtown walk the ramp in outfits that featured crochet, cotton saris and Bibi’s signature gamchha saris. All accessories were a product of waste fabric which were upcycled and teamed up with the attires. Men’s apparel included colourful kurtas, dhotis, scarves and stoles.

In the pursuit of practising sustainability and utilisation of organic produce, Kolkata Kettle 5.0 hosted an interactive platform for craftsmen, designers and local artists from different corners of the country to showcase their exhibits. Held on January 11 and 12 at 27, Ballygunge Park, the event saw several brands and designers put up a fascinating range of apparel, accessories and miscellaneous products, wherein each piece is crafted with care by local artisans without any mechanical or synthetic interventions. Besides choreographing the fashion show for the members of The Rotary Club, Nayanika Chattejee too graced the ramp wearing a pretty Jamdani Lavender saree that she had interestingly paired with upcycled jewellery.
