Ignite Innovation 2024 by BITOSA Kolkata excels entrepreneurship and start-up ideas

The concept behind Ignite Innovation — Start-up Ideas was to spark entrepreneurial enthusiasm among the students at BIT Mesra and its other campuses

BITOSA (Birla Institute of Technology Old Students’ Association) Kolkata Chapter, in association with The Telegraph, hosted ‘Ignite Innovation’ on January 13 at The Saturday Club. The concept behind Ignite Innovation — Start-up Ideas was to spark entrepreneurial enthusiasm among the students at BIT Mesra and its other campuses. The event witnessed the gathering of many of the university’s oldest alumni members, students as well as both aspiring and successful entrepreneurs. The panel session had reputed entrepreneurs like Niraj Sharan, founder-chairman and CEO of Aura Industries Ltd.; Neha Vatsala, founder of Vats Creations; Prof Atanu Ghosh, founder and CEO of BlueBeaks Solutions; and investor Rohit Kumar, sharing insights from their respective journeys.

Another highlight of the event was the opportunity that students got to pitch their start-up ideas, with Navanit Narayan, whole-time director and CEO of Haldia Petrochemicals; Ranajay Ray, AGM, SME Camac Street Branch, SBI; and Rahul Chaudhary, manager, SME Camac Street Branch, SBI, presiding the session as judges.
