The FitExpo India 2023, in association with t2, has grown exponentially. From being conducted on a space of 15-20,000sq ft in 2016 to occupying a whopping 3lakh sq ft at the Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan, FitExpo was certainly a ‘Maha Kumbh’ for sports and fitness enthusiasts. The fourth edition of Asia’s largest sports, fitness, and wellness trade expo, held from December 1-3, hosted in association with SportsExpo, saw a footfall of 1.2lakh people. The expo showcased a diverse range of sports and fitness products from top brands and even connected customers directly to understand their needs and requirements apart from being a business-to-consumer (B2C) as well as a business-to-business (B2B) affair. Deals were even sealed for enterprising souls and masterclasses in Zumba facilitated careers in the high-energy fitness format.

Being hosted after a hiatus of four years, the energy was high at all times. More than 100 different kinds of events related to fitness, bodybuilding, powerlifting, kettlebell, weightlifting, CrossFit, arm wrestling, dance fitness, Zumba, yoga and many others saw overwhelming participation. FitExpo also had 32 formats of martial arts, mixed martial arts and combat sports. Other than popular games like cricket and football, there was throwball, dodgeball, rugby, skating, and cycling that kept the day’s schedule busy and pumping with an adrenaline rush.

Bench-press was a popular competition as hundreds of men and women competed against each other with 75kg, 100kg, 125kg and 150kg weights.

In the Women's Bikini category, Disha Goswami took home the first prize after competing in the final round with seven other contenders.

Red Bull hosted a dance floor that was open to all dance aficionados to display their skills. Hip-hop artistes stole the show as they depicted unreal body balance and impressive moves.

Principal advisor of FITEXPO 2023, Abhay Mishra also addressed the crowd at the inaugural ceremony. His bellow of "How's the josh?" was met with an energy-packed "High Sir!" by the hundreds of people in the crowd. Mishra added, "Fitness has the strength to change your mind. It is a movement that has a ripple effect and we at FITEXPO are honoured to facilitate the movement. This is where passion meets purpose for fitness enthusiasts across the country."

With more than 200 brands exhibiting their products, the event brought about numerous B2B interactions and future business opportunities in an electrifying atmosphere. Deepak Nanda aka Indian Rock obliged his fans with selfies before talking to us. He said, "Every day one should take time for himself/herself at lease for an hour. Whether it's workout or things that you like to do, do it every day. That way you will be healthy as well as happy."

Day 3 of this extravagant fitness and sporting festival witnessed the most electrifying fervor as fans thronged to see their favorite South African cricket professional Jonty Rhodes at the venue. The house of talent looked dapper in a solid navy-blue shirt as he addressed the audience, “It feels very nice to be here. People are working hard and taking care of themselves and a salute to all. It's really amazing to see sports and fitness has taken off at such great heights. Loved to see the growth in fitness, health and wellness and there is so much to do. All of us here and pan India are brand ambassadors of the same. Thank you for the time, efforts and sacrifices that you have made and it’s a great example that all of you are sitting here. I believe you all are the brand ambassadors for a better India, for a better future.”
