Inclement weather impacted the action over three days at Tollygunge Club

The CFL Amateur 2024, the ninth leg of the IGU East Zone Amateur Feeder Tour, took place at the Tollygunge Club between July 31 and August 1. Due to a heavy downpour accompanied by thunder and lightning in Kolkata, the action was reduced to a nine-hole second round on August 1.

Anshul Mishra emerged victorious, playing two under par across both days. Mishra was also the winner of the eighth leg of the IGU East Zone Amateur Feeder Tour in 2023. Following Mishra, Suveer Kapoor secured second place by playing one under par, scoring 103 across both days.

Abhishek Mitra triumphed in the Mid-Amateur category with a score of 108, playing four over par. Mitra was followed by G. Suresh Sharma, who secured second place with a score of 119. Ranadeep Moitra and Ashit Luthra secured first and second places with individual scores of 123. Ashit Luthra also won the Super Senior category with a score of 123, followed by Captain S. Chakraborty with 134.G. Suresh Sharma also scored a 101 to become the winner of the NETT category.

The CFL Amateur Open 2024 WAGR ranked tournament was also organised between July 31 and August 2 at Tollygunge Club. This event was played by the amateurs and the three-day tournament ended with the victory of Saquib Hussain. Hussain finished the third day’s round, winning the tournament three score under par with a stupefying score of 171. Anshul Mishra secured the second position in the WAGR with a total score of 174, followed by Rudraksha Banerjee, who finished the tournament with 175, one score over par.

The IGU East Zone Amateur Feeder Tour continues to foster and showcase the promising future stars of Indian golf. The tour’s education partner is The Champ for Life Academy. The outdoor media partner is Balaji Ads, and the online proshop partner is Golfedge. Bisleri has come in as the water partner for this season. Keventer, Eastern India’s largest FMCG company, is the tour sponsor and provided players with juices and milkshakes. Additionally, Reliable Group is a sponsor. The tour is managed by Protouch Sports.
