The Ranchi Meteorological Centre on Friday afternoon issued a forecast of dry weather with a rising trend in the day temperature in most parts of Jharkhand for the next 72-hours.

S.D. Kotal, director of Ranchi Met Centre, said: “Today’s (Friday) air chart analysis and satellite pictures did not reveal any weather systems. The weather will be dry with the domination of westerly winds.”

The maximum temperature in most parts of the state will witness a rise, he added.

He said that the cyclonic circulation over eastern Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring Chhattisgarh was hovering over south Odisha extending up to 0.9km above mean sea level on Friday.

According to Kotal, a trough extending upto 0.9km above mean sea level was running from the east central Arabian Sea off the Karnataka coast to the western parts of Vidarbha, across north interior Karnataka and Marathwada.

A weather analyst at the Regional Met Centre at Alipore in Calcutta, however, predicted rain and thunderstorm after the next three days.

“We are expecting Nor’wester activity in north eastern and north western parts of the state on April 14 and 15,” said the weatherman.
