The Supreme Court on Thursday opened its doors to visitors for a ‘guided tour’ of its halls, administrative wings and museum every Saturday except public holidays.
Justice Gogoi said it was a small beginning and that he had initiated it to make the apex court accessible to the public.
Ravindra Maithani, secretary-general of the Supreme Court, said people could log on to the court’s website and book their places online for the tour.
Till now the Supreme Court could be accessed only with passes issued by the registry, after strict scrutiny, only to advocates, litigants and journalists.
