Panda led a delegation to Japan to explore opportunities in various fields and make stronger ties with Japan in various sectors.

“The team left for Odisha on May 26. During their stay, they visited various places and research centres. Earlier in April, chief minister Naveen Patnaik visited Japan to explore business opportunities for Odisha. He had visited the Kimitsu Steel Works of Nippon Steel Corporation in Japan to have a first-hand idea of how Nippon Steel is planning to set up its steel plant in Odisha and what it would look like. So efforts are on to have more tie-ups with Japan in various fields,” said an official.

The delegation, led by minister Panda, included BJD’s Rajya Sabha member Sujit Kumar, MLA and former minister Debi Prasad Mishra, joint secretary of science and technology department, Puja Mishra, and film director Nilamadhab Panda. The team visited Kobe Bio-Medical Innovation Cluster.
