Eight years after their hit duet Ikk Kudi (Club Mix) for the 2016 movie Udta Punjab, Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh are reuniting for a new song in Vasan Bala’s upcoming film Jigra, the actress hinted on Friday.

“Chairs say it all ,” wrote Alia on Instagram, sharing a photo that shows the duo from behind as they sit on two chairs. While Diljit’s chair bears the tagline “sings about Kudi”, Alia’s chair is tagged with “the said Kudi”, alluding to their earlier collaboration.

Fans flooded the comment section to express their excitement. “Now this is going to be my new Favourite song Diljeet x jigra the most awaited magical duo is here Can't wait for this one i'm so excited ,” wrote one of the fans in the comment section.

Also featuring Vedang Raina, Jigra is set to release on October 11. It is a story about a sister’s (Alia) fight to save her brother (Vedang) against all odds. “An emotional action thriller. A series of unfortunate events leads to the sister set out on a journey of excruciating pain, vigour and a will that cannot be bent until her brother is free,” reads the films’ synopsis on IMDb.

Jigra is the third project under Alia’s home banner Eternal Sunshine Productions after 2022’s Netfllix dark comedy Darlings and 2024’s Amazon Prime Video crime-drama series Poacher. It marks Alia’s first collaboration with director Vasan Bala, who is known for thrillers like Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota (2018) and Monica, O My Darling (2022).
