BCCI secretary Jay Shah took to Twitter to announce the significant development.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Raipur branch office of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday where he said that the government wanted it to become a federal crime investigation agency with offices in all states before the 2024 General Election, according to media reports.

"The NIA will have branches in all states by May 2024," he added.

SP leader Azam Khan who was earlier sentenced to three years in jail over hate speech, has been granted bail and given seven days to appeal against the verdict.

Khan was earlier found guilty of hate speech related to his comments against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer in 2019.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday said Pakistan is "committing atrocities" against people in its occupied Kashmir and will have to bear its consequences.

Hinting at retrieving Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), the minister said the goal of overall development in the twin Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will be achieved "after reaching Gilgit and Baltistan" -- parts of PoK.

Wicketkeeper Matthew Wade on Thursday became the second Australian player to test positive for COVID-19, a day ahead of the defending champions' crucial T20 World Cup match against England.

Aviation regulator DGCA has allowed IndiGo to wet lease wide-body Boeing planes from Turkish Airlines for up to six months and has rejected the domestic carrier's request for leasing the aircraft for up to two years, according to sources.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) turned down the request of the country's largest airline to wet lease the aircraft for a longer period, citing that the move could become diversion of traffic rights in collusion with a strong foreign carrier that will mainly feed the latter's hub abroad with more passengers from India, the sources said.

India defeated Netherlands by 56 runs to register their second consecutive win in the T20 World Cup here on Thursday.

Electing to bat, India scored 179 for 2 and then restricted Netherlands to 123 for 9.

The Calcutta High Court directed Jitendra Narain, a former chief secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, to appear before a Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing alleged gang-rape charges against him, by October 28, holding that the case requires immediate inquiry.

A vacation bench comprising justices Bibek Chaudhuri and Prasenjit Biswas granted interim protection against arrest to Narain till a date that will be fixed by the circuit bench of the Calcutta High Court in Port Blair on November 14 on its first date of sitting after the Puja vacation.

Elon Musk posted video Wednesday showing him strolling into Twitter headquarters ahead of a Friday deadline to close his 44 billion deal to buy the company.

Musk also changed his Twitter profile to refer to himself as Chief Twit and his location as Twitter headquarters, which is based in San Francisco. The video showed him carrying a sink through a lobby area.

The Indira Gandhi International Airport in the national capital has emerged as the world's 10th busiest airport in October, improving its ranking compared to the pre-pandemic period.

In its report, aviation analytics firm OAG said Delhi airport has improved its position from 14th place in October 2019, which was the pre-pandemic time. In October 2022, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport was the busiest in the world.
