Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan-starrer Zara Hatke Zara Bachke passed the crucial first-weekend test with flying colours, minting Rs 22.59 crore nett in three days since its release, the makers claimed on social media on Monday.
Taking to Instagram, Maddock Films, the producers of the film, wrote, “The weekend was filled with love! 😍Audience, thank you for loving this hatke kahani. ❤️पेश hai ek hatke kahani from the makers of Luka Chuppi and Mimi. ☺️ Book your tickets sahparivaar! #ZaraHatkeZaraBachke in theatres now.”
The Laxman Utekar-directed romantic comedy, which released on June 2, registered an opening day collection of Rs 5.49 crore nett. The film earned Rs 7.20 crore nett on Saturday, followed by Rs 9.90 crore nett on Sunday, taking its total three-day collection at the domestic box office to Rs 22.59 crore nett.
Despite mixed reviews from critics and stiff competition from Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, Vicky and Sara’s romantic drama attracted audiences to the theatres. Trade analysts attribute the reason to the unique ticket-selling strategy of ‘Buy 1 Get 1 Free’, which was valid till Sunday.
Apart from Vicky and Sara, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke also stars Sharib Hashmi, Inaamulhaq, Neeraj Sood, Meghna Agarwal and Rakesh Bedi in supporting roles.
