The seventh and final season of The Big Bang Theory spinoff series Young Sheldon, starring Iain Armitage in the titular role, started streaming on Amazon Prime Video shortly after its premiere on CBS on February 15.
Titled A Weiner Schnitzel and Underwear in a Tree, the first episode of the highly-anticipated seventh season reintroduced viewers to Sheldon’s world as he embarks on a study abroad programme in Germany alongside his mother Mary, portrayed by Zoe Perry.
The seventh season promises to pick up right where the sixth left off, with Sheldon’s departure to Germany and the aftermath of a tornado that disrupts life back home in Texas. As Sheldon adjusts to life overseas, the rest of the Cooper family must grapple with the challenges of displacement, particularly his grandmother Connie, portrayed by Annie Potts, who loses her home in the calamity.
In the subsequent episodes, viewers can anticipate a blend of humour, nostalgia and heartfelt moments as the Cooper family navigates through their new reality. The journey of Young Sheldon will culminate with a one-hour Season 7 finale, marking the end of the series, on May 16.
In 2019, fans bid adieu to the beloved gang from The Big Bang Theory after 12 successful seasons. However, the legacy of one of its iconic characters, Sheldon Cooper, continued to thrive through the prequel series Young Sheldon. Created by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro, Young Sheldon embarked on a journey to unravel the early life of the brilliant but socially awkward Sheldon Cooper as he navigates childhood on the path to becoming a Nobel Prize-winning physicist.
