Yami Gautam’s Article 370 collected Rs 35.45 crore nett at the domestic box office, comfortably outmuscling Vidyut Jammwal-led actioner Crakk, after having completed a week in theatres on Friday.
Crakk, which also features Amy Jackson and Nora Fatehi, could only earn Rs 12.35 crore nett in seven days since its release.
According to industry data-tracking website Sacnilk, Article 370 began its box office journey with an opening-day collection of Rs 5.9 crore nett. It went on to earn Rs 7.4 crore nett and Rs 9.6 crore nett on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The political thriller maintained its momentum during the weekdays too, minting Rs 12.55 crore nett from Monday to Thursday.
Also starring Priyamani, Arun Govil and Kiran Karmarkar in key roles, Article 370 managed to gross Rs 44.60 crore at the worldwide box office till Thursday, according to the makers of the film.
Produced by Aditya Dhar and directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, Article 370 features Yami Gautam in the role of an intelligence officer. It chronicles the events that led to the abrogation of Article 370 of the Indian constitution.
Meanwhile, Vidyut Jammwal-starrer Crakk, helmed by Aditya Datt, minted only Rs 0.80 crore nett on Thursday. After opening to a collection of Rs 4.25 crore nett on Friday, it went on to collect Rs 2.15 crore nett on Saturday and Rs 2.3 crore nett on Sunday.
On the other hand, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon-starrer Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya collected Rs 10 crore nett over a seven-day period. The total 21-day collection of the romcom now stands at Rs 76.70 crore nett.
