Actress Alia Bhatt could not stop smiling as her Jigra co-star Vedang Raina sang the iconic Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai song for her on Raksha Bandhan during a live session on Instagram on Monday.

The video has since gone viral. A clip shared by a fan account shows Vedang strumming a guitar and singing the song for his on-screen sister, Alia, who is all smiles.

Jigra marks Alia’s first collaboration with filmmaker Vasan Bala. The project is backed by director-producer Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Alia's home banner, Eternal Sunshine Productions.

The makers first announced Jigra in September last year. The teaser revealed that the storyline would follow a woman’s (Alia) courageous attempts to protect her brother (Vedang) at all costs.

Alia, Karan, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra are credited as producers on the upcoming project.

Jigra is slated to hit theatres on October 11. The film was earlier scheduled for release on September 27. However, the release date was pushed back to avoid a box-office clash with Telugu star Jr NTR's Devara.

Vedang made his acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix film The Archies last year. Alia, on the other hand, is set to headline YRF Spy Universe’s first female-led film Alpha alongside Munjya actress Sharvari Wagh.
