The second season of the Hindi remake of the crime thriller series The Night Manager, headlined by Anil Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur, will stream on Disney+ Hotstar from June 30.
Anil Kapoor shared the announcement on social media alongside a poster of him as Shelly Rungta from the show on May 31. “The king has returned to his Lanka, and he ain't ready to lose. The saga continues!,” the 66-year-old actor wrote.
Anil’s co-stars Shobhita Dhulipala and Aditya Roy Kapur also shared posters of their characters from the thriller web series and announced the arrival of the second part.
Created and directed by Sandeep Modi along with Priyanka Ghosh, the first part of The Night Manager, received critical acclaim for its adaptation and the performances of the actors. Anil Kapoor stole the show as Shelly Rungta, perfecting the role originally played by Hugh Laurie in the 2016 BBC version. Aditya Roy Kapur portrayed the role of the Night Manager — Shaan Sengupta — originally played by Tom Hiddleston.
The first part of The Night Manager ended with Shelly welcoming Shaan into his inner circle after the latter sabotages Shelly's right-hand man, Brij Pal (Saswata Chatterjee). Shaan is also caught by Shelly's girlfriend Kaveri (Sobhita Dhulipala) while trying to steal documents from his private office. After he showed her the proof of Shelly's arms dealing, the two seem to have come to a deal of taking down the businessman together. On the other hand, Indian intelligence officer Lipika Saikia Rao (Tillotama Shome), who initially recruits Shaan, might have to deal with an agent gone rogue after Shaan defies her and stops taking orders.
The Night Manager Part 2 is likely to show whether Shaan obeys Lipika's orders and plays a double agent or finds himself immersed in the world of Shelly Rungta.
