The Kerala Story earns 156 crore nett in 12 days to emerge as the second highest-grossing Hindi movie of 2023

Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan remains the only Hindi film with a higher collection with a collection of Rs 545 crore nett

The Kerala Story has emerged as the second highest-grossing Hindi movie of 2023 with a collection of Rs 156 crore nett at the domestic box office.

Earlier, Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar had held the position of the second-highest grosser of 2023 with a lifetime collection of Rs 147 crore nett. However, The Kerala Story has surpassed its earnings in mere 12 days of theatrical run.

Headlined by Adah Sharma, The Kerala Story collected Rs 81 crore nett in the first week and topped it up with a phenomenal second weekend, raking in Rs 55 crore nett. It performed steadily even during the weekdays, adding Rs 10.3 crore nett to its kitty on Monday, followed by Rs 9.65 crore nett on Tuesday.

Amassing Rs 545 crore nett, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan remains the only Hindi film with a higher collection than the Sudipta Sen-helmed movie.

Salman Khan’s Eid release this year — Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan — is the only other Hindi film to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in 2023. The Farhad Samji-directed action drama has collected Rs 109 crore nett so far at the domestic box office.
