The first episode of The Kardashians Season 2 on Disney+ Hotstar, released on September 22, gave us the much-awaited dose of Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Kendall Jenner. Apart from Kourtney’s current partner, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, we also get to see Khloe’s ex-partner Tristan Thompson.

Here are the highlights of the episode.

Khloe reveals why she still had another baby with Tristan

In December 2021, Khloe discovered that Tristan had been cheating on her and impregnated fitness instructor Maralee Nichols. The revelation came after the court documents from a paternity suit filed by Maralee in June 2021 became public. However, Khloe shocked the world in July 2022 when her representatives shared the news that Khloe and Tristan would be welcoming another child via surrogacy.

In the opening episode of The Kardashians Season 2, Khloe takes the opportunity to clear the air about why she had decided to have a child with Tristan even after he cheated on her. “We did an embryo transfer, like, a couple of days ago,” she said, confirming that the child had been conceived before the scandalous truth about Tristan was revealed to Khloe.

Khloe’s family offers her support and accuses Tristan of trying to trap her

With Khloe in the middle of a spiralling emotional crisis, Kris calls her daughters Kim, Kendall and Kylie to discuss how they could help Khloe. Their observations do not fall favourably on Tristan.

Kylie points out, “I just didn’t like the fact that Tristan knew that this (his affair and paternity suit) was happening.”

“It’s like you were encouraging Khloe to go forward with this while you know that that was also happening. It’s almost like he wanted to trap her,” Kendall observes.

Kris agrees with her daughters. “He wanted to hang on to her for sure and thought that if maybe they did that (have another child) she would, you know, marry him.”

Khloe’s baby shower

Kris, Kim, Kendall and Kylie discuss the idea of throwing a baby shower for Khloe to lift her mood. Kendall, always the voice of reason, tells her mother to not jump the gun and to ask Khloe if she wants a shower before planning the event.

Kris convinces Khloe to let them throw a baby shower for her despite her hesitation. The intimate baby shower sees Kourtney and Travis along with other close family members.

The birth of Khloe’s son

After showing the emotional turmoil faced by Khloe before the birth of her son, the episode concludes with a new member added to the Kardashian clan. The show documents the birth of Khloe’s son. Khloe and Kim are the only family members present during the delivery.

The new mother shows her son to the rest of the family via video calls. Though Tristan was not shown to be present during the delivery, he visits the newborn at the hospital shortly after. The name of the boy has not been revealed yet, but Khloe is intent on naming him something that starts with a T to match his father Tristian and elder sister True’s names.
