Koushik Roy, Riya Ganguly and Plaban Basu star in the new KLIKK thriller 36 Ghonta, which follows Nihar, the protagonist of the story, who faces financial ruin after his partner’s betrayal. This attracts the attention of dangerous loan sharks. He desperately seeks out help from a business acquaintance and the narrative takes a critical turn soon. On the way, a chance discovery of a large amount of money at a car accident site tempts Nihar to take a drastic step, unknowingly dragging him into a political scandal. Pursued by a conflicted police officer, a harried Nihar escapes into the jungle, setting off a complex chain of events driven by personal motives.

As the story unfolds, the key characters grapple with greed, ambition and the consequences of their actions blurring the lines between right and wrong. “The story of 36 Ghonta is very relevant in the current context. Through the journey of a man, I wanted to convey the harrowing message of how all the people close to us can change radically. How greed can constantly propel us towards dire consequences. 36 Ghonta had a gruelling outdoor schedule in the jungles. I’m happy with the outcome and it’s a relief to have the KLIKK team support and encourage us throughout like family,” said director Jon Halder.

“Though I’ve been working mostly on television, this has been a worthwhile experience in the web medium. I have played a common man before, but a man on the run, gripped with vices of choices was challenging. The outdoor locations were tough. But we had a great time bonding together as a team. With some super cinematography by the very talented Anir and with his thorough knowledge of these terrains, I think Jon has been able to curate great performances from us. I’m quite sure this narrative will satisfy the viewers with an edge-of-the-seat thriller right till the end,” said Koushik.

“While writing 36 Ghonta, I tried to hold up a mirror to current society. This story is about a common man who is a victim of circumstances and somewhere maybe he has to pay the price of his greed and those around him. I’m very hopeful this gripping narrative will resonate well with audiences,” said screenplay writer Sanjay Bhattacharyaa.

“Working with a veteran director like Jon Halder and having a seasoned actor like Koushik Roy was definitely an added bonus. It’s great to work in an intriguing web series like this,” said Riya. “Jon is a very experienced director and has executed multiple projects for us. Stepping out of the expected patterns and not limiting the storytelling within boxed-in formats or geographies, has given us better audience feedback. This is an absolutely fresh new team and we expect to deliver the goods well,” said Niraj Tantiya, director, KLIKK.

Meanwhile, another series by Jon, titled NH6, starring Rajesh Sharma, Debleena Dutt and Judhajit Sarkar, is streaming on KLIKK now. The story revolves around a road trip taken by a real estate entrepreneur, Bob, and his wife Nimisha. This is Bob’s first trip to his in-laws. Trouble begins when their car breaks down on a deserted highway. Bob calls for a tow truck for help. An individual travelling on that highway offers to help the distraught couple. Bob invests his trust in this person and requests him to help them and accompany his wife to the nearest petrol pump, where she could use the restroom. She hitches a ride with him and they drive off to the next petrol pump. Mysteriously, Nimisha disappears from here on. The series is produced and directed by Jon Halder.

“NH6 has been a thrilling adventure for the entire team. The series deals with many burning issues. Powerful performances have ensured a very good audience response. We are overwhelmed with audience reactions pouring in from all quarters,” said Jon.
