Actor Pedro Pascal on Thursday dropped pictures with the rest of The Fantastic Four cast, including Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn, as the upcoming Marvel movie went on floors.
While the first picture features Pascal with Kirby, Quinn and Moss-Bachrach, The Fantastic Four director Matt Shakman appears in the next photo. “Our first mission,” the 49-year-old actor wrote alongside the pictures posted on Instagram.
On February 14 this year, the makers had shared an illustrated poster of the upcoming Marvel movie, announcing the cast. “Happy Valentine’s Day from Marvel’s First Family! Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn are The Fantastic Four,” they had written on Instagram.
Pascal, known for his role in Game of Thrones, will play Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic), the leader of the superhero group. Kirby, who played Princess Margaret in Netflix drama series The Crown, will star as Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), while The Bear star Moss-Bachrach will essay the role of Ben Grimm (The Thing). Quinn, who played Eddie Munson in Stranger Things Season 4, will play Johnny Storm (The Human Torch).
The Fantastic Four characters were created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby in the 1961 comic Fantastic Four No. 1. It follows the story of four astronauts who gained superpowers due to an exposure to cosmic rays during a scientific mission in outer space.
There are three cinematic adaptations of The Fantastic Four. The four characters were played by Ioan Gruffudd (Reed Richards), Jessica Alba (Susan Storm), Chris Evans (Johnny Storm) and Michael Chiklis (Ben Grimm) in 2005 and 2007. The 2015 adaptation starred Miles Teller (Reed Richards), Kate Mara (Sue Storm), Michael B. Jordan (Johnny Storm) and Jamie Bell (Ben Grimm) in the lead roles.
Directed by WandaVision filmmaker Matt Shakman from a script by Josh Friedman, the upcoming movie is slated to hit theatres on July 25, 2025.
