Days after their reunion on Netflix’s The Great Indian Kapil Show, actor-comedian Sunil Grover serenaded Kapil Sharma with a rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ during the latter’s birthday celebrations on Tuesday, shows a viral video shared by Punjabi pop singer Guru Randhawa on social media.
Kapil marked his 43rd birthday festivities by cutting a Netflix-themed cake in the presence of his family, friends and the cast of his The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show. He graciously shared the first bite with his wife, Ginni Chatrath, while Sunil led the birthday song amidst the cheers of the gathered guests.
Sunil, renowned for his portrayal of Gutthi in Kapil’s previous show, had a public fallout with the latter in 2017. However, the two actors buried the hatchet and reunited for Netflix’s The Great Indian Kapil Show which premiered on the streaming platform on March 30.
Guru Randhawa also shared another video on his Instagram page where he was seen wishing Kapil. “Happy birthday paji @kapilsharma @gurjot_bu @marcrandhawa,” he wrote in the caption.
Actress-turned-filmmaker Nandita Das, who directed Kapil Sharma in Zwigato (2023), also took to Instagram to share a montage of photos with the actor. “Happy birthday Kapil! Your bring joy to so many. So here is wishing you all that makes you happy. And thank you for your trust and friendship,” she wrote in the caption.
The first episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show featured Ranbir Kapoor, his sister Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and their mother Neetu Kapoor as guests. Grover has returned in a new avatar this time, playing an airport employee named Dafli.
