SS Rajamouli is feeling ‘on top of the world’ after Titanic director James Cameron showered praise on his epic period action drama RRR at the Critics’ Choice Awards 2023 on Sunday night.
Sharing pictures of their interaction on Twitter, Rajamouli wrote, “The great James Cameron watched RRR.. He liked it so much that he recommended (the film) to his wife Suzy and watched it again with her.🙏🏻🙏🏻 Sir I still cannot believe you spent a whole 10 minutes with us analyzing our movie. As you said I AM ON TOP OF THE WORLD... Thank you both.”
MM Keeravani aka Kreem, who has composed the music for RRR, too was over the moon after meeting the Avatar director.. “And he complimented on how the music in RRR varies in the volume and body unlike in typical western movies. A great honour and recognition for my work ❤️🙏,” he wrote on Twitter.
RRR bagged the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Foreign language last evening and its foot-tapping number Naatu Naatu was adjudged the Best Song at the award ceremony. The energetic dance number also won a Golden Globe Award in the Best Song in a Motion Picture category.
RRR is a period drama headlined by Ram Charan and NTR Jr. in the role of freedom fighters. Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran also featured in the movie in significant roles. This visual epic turned out to be a global blockbuster, which collected Rs 1,144 crore gross at the worldwide box office.
