Following the updates of Rajinikanth’s Thalaivar 170 to Dhruva Sarja’s Martin, the makers of other upcoming movies from the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam film industries dropped new trailers and teasers last week. Here’s a look at some of them.
Soppana Sundari (Tamil)
The official trailer of the upcoming Tamil-language comedy-drama film Sappana Sundari was unveiled by the makers. Written and directed by SG Charles, the film stars Aishwarya Rajesh, Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli, Deepa Shankar, Karunakaran, Sathish, Redin Kingsley, Mime Gopi and Sunil Reddy.
The one-minute-49-second-long trailer gives an overview of a middle-class drama. The trailer introduces us to the eccentric characters of the film and a red car, which becomes the obsession of most of the characters. The music for the film has been composed by Ajmal Tahseen.
Balagam (Telugu)
Dil Raju dropped the official trailer of his upcoming Telugu-language film Balagam. Directed by debutant Venu Yeldandi, the film stars Priyadarshi, Kavya Kalyanram and Muralidhar Goud.
The one-minute-33-second-long trailer takes us to a small village in Telangana where we are introduced to various characters. The trailer is filled with the highlights of rural life with modern complexities. Towards the end, it turns into a social commentary about injustice.
Maheshum Marutiyum (Malayalam)
Goodwill Entertainments released the official teaser of its upcoming Malayalam-language romantic film Maheshum Marutiyum. Written and directed by Sethu, the film stars Asif Ali and Mamta Mohandas in lead roles.
The one-minute-26-second-long teaser shows a love story — one boy and a girl roaming around the scenic landscapes of Kerala in a red Maruti 800 car.
Mandala -The UFO Incident (Kannada)
The makers of the upcoming Kannada-language science fiction film Mandala- The UFO Incident shared the official trailer of the film. The film, directed by Ajay Sarpeshkar, features Anant Nag, Prakash Belawadi, Sharmiela Mandre, Samyukta Hornad and Kiran Srinivasa in lead roles.
In the two-minute-five-second-long trailer, we see an aspiring aerospace scientist making some calculation mistakes before the launch of a rocket. She is then kidnapped by aliens in front of her boyfriend. However, no one believes him when he narrates the story to others.
Mandala - The UFO Incident will hit theatres on March 10.
