Mismatched Season 2
Netflix has shared a promo for the second season of its popular series Mismatched, which will be available to stream on the OTT platform from October 14. Based on Sandhya Menon’s 2017 novel When Dimple Met Rishi, the show is headlined by Prajakta Koli and Rohit Saraf.
The series follows Rishi (Saraf), a die-hard romantic who falls for Dimple (Koli), a gamer, and now he wants to marry her.
Mismatched is directed by Karwaan helmer Akarsh Khurana and Nipun Dharmadhikari, known for co-hosting the YouTube talk show Casting Couch With Amey & Nipun. Khurana also serves as showrunner for the series.
Shantaram
Apple TV+ has dropped the trailer of its highly anticipated drama series Shantaram. Set in 1980s Bombay, the series is based on Gregory David Roberts’ best-selling novel of the same name. The series is headlined by Sons of Anarchy’s Charlie Hunnam.
In the two-minute-24-second-long trailer, Hunnam is shown as an Australian fugitive living in Bombay and trying to figure out his life in the ’80s. His seclusion is put in jeopardy when he meets and falls in love with a mysterious woman.
Shantaram is created by Steve Lightfoot and Eric Warren Singer. While Singer penned Top Gun: Maverick, Lightfoot has been widely acclaimed for his work in series like Hannibal and Marvel’s The Punisher.
The series also features Shubham Saraf, Elektra Kilbey, Fayssal Bazzi, Alyy Khan, Sujaya Dasgupta, Vincent Perez, David Field, Alexander Siddig, Rachel Kamath and Shiv Palekar.
Shantaram will arrive on Apple TV+ with three episodes on October 14. The remaining episodes will roll out weekly on every Friday.
The Curse of Bridge Hollow
Netflix has unveiled the trailer of its upcoming horror-comedy The Curse of Bridge Hollow. Directed by Jeff Wadlow, the film stars White Chicks’ Marlon Wayans and Stranger Things’ Priah Ferguson.
The two-minute-35-second-long trailer follows a father and daughter duo teaming up to fight evil Halloween decorations of a small town called Bridge Hollow. From the trailer, it looks like a fun-filled yet spooky horror-comedy film.
The Curse of Bridge Hollow will be streaming from October 14.
A Trip to Infinity
Netflix has dropped the trailer of its upcoming documentary A Trip to Infinity. Directed by Drew Takahashi and Jon Halperin, the documentary features a host of eminent mathematicians and scientists talking about the concept of infinity.
The official synopsis of the documentary reads, “Eminent mathematicians, particle physicists and cosmologists dive into infinity and its mind-bending implications for the universe.”
A Trip to Infinity will arrive on Netflix on September 26.
Buffoon
Stone Benchers has dropped the trailer of its upcoming Tamil crime thriller film Buffoon. The film features Vaibhav, Anagha, Joju George, Anthakudi Ilaiyaraja, Naren, Moonar Ramesh and Tamizh in prominent roles.
The almost two-minute-long trailer shows an ordinary man who gets entangled in a shady company and then gets charged with murder. But there is also a larger political web of conspiracy. Buffoon is written and directed by Ashok Veerappan while the music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
Buffoon will hit the cinemas on September 23.
Avenue 5 Season 2
HBO has shared the official trailer for the second season of its sci-fi comedy Avenue 5, starring Hugh Laurie in the lead role. The series is created by Armando Iannucci of Veep and The Death of Stalin fame.
The one-minute-44-second-long trailer shows that things have got worse for Avenue 5’s flustered captain, played by Ryan Clark (Laurie), who still has to figure out how to tell the agitated crew and passengers that they can’t return to Earth for eight years. The series also features Zach Woods, Josh Gad, Lenora Crichlow and Rebecca Front among others.
Avenue 5 Season 2 premieres on October 10.
