Shah Rukh Khan’s spy thriller Pathaan is inching closer to the Rs 1000-crore mark globally following a collection of Rs 55 crore worldwide over the last weekend, box office figures highlighted on Monday.
The Siddharth Anand-directed film, also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, has grossed Rs 945 crore globally since its release on January 25, breaking several box office records.
Pathaan created history by raking in Rs 697 crore gross worldwide in its opening week, including Rs 260 crore in the overseas market. The film’s earnings dropped around 78% globally in the second week as the action thriller made Rs 191 crore worldwide. The third week has opened on a positive note for Pathaan as it collected Rs 55 crore gross over the weekend.
However, with Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania slated to hit the cinemas on February 17, Pathaan’s box office collection is likely to take a hit. The film will also face stiff competition from a slew of Bollywood titles scheduled for release in the upcoming weeks, including Kartik Aaryan’s Shehzada, Akshay Kumar’s Selfiee, Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor’s Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar and Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa.
