Seven Indian films, including PS Vinothraj’s The Adamant Girl and Siddartha Jatla’s In the Belly of a Tiger, will be screened at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival that is scheduled to run from February 15 to 25.
The Berlinale recently announced the full line-ups of its Panorama, Forum and Generation sidebars. Its Panorama section will showcase 31 titles, including one series and 25 premieres, while the Forum section will present 30 titles from 30 territories.
Both The Adamant Girl and In the Belly of a Tiger have been selected for the Forum section of Berlinale 2024. Other Indian entries that made it to the Berlinale lineup this year include O Seeker by Gavati Wad, Remote Occlusions by Utkarsh and Two Refusals by Sunil Sanzgiri in the Forum Expanded section.
Short film Sour Candy by Nishi Dugar and Subarna Dash’s animated short film The Girl Who Lived in the Loo have made it to the Generation section.
This year’s Berlin International Film Festival will open with the world premiere of Small Things Like These, an Irish-Belgian collaboration, on February 15. Helmed by Tim Mielants and penned by Enda Walsh, the film boasts an international ensemble cast, including Cillian Murphy, Eileen Walsh, Michelle Fairley and Emily Watson.
The festival will screenMartin Scorsese’s 2006 film The Departed on February 20. The screening will follow a ceremony where Scorsese will be presented with the previously announced Honorary Golden Bear.
In addition to the film screenings, the Berlinale has selected 10 international series projects for its co-production market and 15 shows for its Series market, highlighting the festival's commitment to showcasing a diverse range of storytelling mediums.
