With his film Khela Jokhon releasing in theatres on December 2, Arindam Sil is all set to make the most of November by directing a new web series, Bidyutlata, which is based on two books by Adeesha Sarkar. Starring Sauraseni Maitra, Arjun Chakrabarty, Srijani Mitra, Biswajit Chakraborty and others, Bidyutlata goes on the floors soon. The name of the story is Kath Badamer Gandho. “This is not a typical thriller with a detective... it’s noir, an unconventional crime thriller. There is black humour. Sauraseni plays Bidyutlata, a hacker in the series. She has an air of mystery about her, and is absolutely magical. She solves cases and just disappears. Then she meets police officer Neel Chowdhury. Neel happens to be a calm and nice guy. They become a team and they start solving cases. Bidyutlata has a tremendous sense of humour. There is an incredible shade to her character. She doesn’t really care about how she dresses... she would appear in a not-so-suitable attire at a scene of crime. She is forthright and speaks her mind,” says Arindam Sil.

Season One of the series will have six episodes. “There’s going to be a lot of thrill, action, drama and sex in the series. There’s going to be some very bold sequences. We know what is the demand of the script. Sauraseni fits the character perfectly. Neel has a goodness about him,” says Sil.

“It’s always a pleasure reuniting with Arindamda and team. I’m looking forward to playing a police officer and being a part of this thriller. It’s a very interesting story that deals not only with the usual thriller elements but plenty of humour and drama as well,” says Arjun.
